WE HAVE LIFT OFF!

2016 is set to be a very exciting year for the MK Diamonds, not only will we be launching the first ever MK Softball League but the club will also be celebrating our 5th birthday!!

To mark this occasion & to celebrate the launch of our new league the club held a celebration evening at the Woughton On the Green Pavilion. Over 30 members plus family enjoyed the first outdoor training session of the year in some lovely evening sunshine. Players dusted off some cobwebs with the help of club coaches Jodie Bull & Chris Borah as well as being joined by GB ladies coach Liz Knight!

After the session everyone headed to the bar & tucked in to some pizza, before settling down for a short presentation by Club Chairman Hedley Bevan & Secretary Leah Holmes looking back at club history & looking forward at the league to come! A special mention was given to Jon Reynolds who founded the club & only recently stepped down from the role of Chairman with some gifts presented as a thank you for all his hard work. Talk then turned to the new league with our new website unveiled & fixtures shared. The committee shared that focus of the league would be to be welcoming to all abilities with rule adaptations to support this & with teams created with this in mind. The final announcement was the all important reveal of captains & team draft ready for our fixtures to kick off in May... Let the games begin!
